FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR WEST VIRGINIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE CHARLESTON WV
941 PM EST TUE MAR 3 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A STRONG COLD FRONT BEGINS SAGGING THROUGH SOUTHEAST OHIO TONIGHT.
PERIODS OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAIN CAN BE EXPECTED ALONG AND AHEAD OF
THIS FRONT. THE RAIN COMBINED WITH SNOW MELT WILL CAUSE RISES ON
AREA RIVERS AND STREAMS...WITH FLOODING POSSIBLE.

COLD AIR FINALLY SURGES IN BEHIND THE FRONT AS IT SLOWLY SINKS SOUTH
THURSDAY AFTERNOON. RAIN WILL CONTINUE AT FIRST AND THEN TRANSITION
TO SLEET AND SNOW BY THURSDAY EVENING. SNOW COULD BE HEAVY AT TIMES
AS THIS FRONT TAKES ITS TIME MOVING THROUGH WEST VIRGINIA AND INTO
VIRGINIA. THE SNOW FINALLY SHUTS OFF THURSDAY AFTERNOON LEAVING MANY
PLACES WITH 4 TO 8 INCHES OF NEW SNOW.

COLD HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS IN THURSDAY NIGHT LINGERING THROUGH
FRIDAY...FOLLOWED BY A WARMING TREND FOR THE WEEKEND AS A WEAK
SYSTEM TRACKS TO OUR NORTH ON SUNDAY.
