.DISCUSSION...
Today will be a dry and mostly sunny day, with south to southwest
winds 6 to 12 mph and minimum afternoon humidities around 50% at the
burn site. A moderate trough/cold front will approach from the west
today, then slide southeast across the burn site this evening. With
the lower levels quite dry, this trough/front will do little more
than swing the winds from SW to NW as it passes this evening.
Pressure gradients behind the front are moderate, with the NW winds
late this evening and overnight in the MS river valley in the 8 to
12 mph range. There will be steeper low level lapse rates and deeper
diurnal mixing on Tuesday with the colder air aloft coming in behind
the front, resulting in some stronger NW winds. Tuesday to be a
partly cloudy day, with NW winds in the 10-16 mph range with some
gusts of 25-30 mph by late morning and during the afternoon.
