...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

FLOOD POTENTIAL IS LOW FOR THE STATE OF ALASKA.

...HYDROMETEOROLOGICAL DISCUSSION...

AN UPPER LEVEL LOW IN THE GULF EARLIER THIS WEEK BROUGHT SOME SNOW
SHOWERS TO THE GULF COASTAL REGION AND NEARBY INLAND LOCATIONS.
THIS UPPER LEVEL LOW IS MOVING NORTH AND WEAKENING TODAY.  THE NEXT
MAJOR SYSTEM IS AN UPPER LEVEL LOW IN THE BERING... THIS MAIN UPPER
LEVEL LOW WILL SEND A SERIES OF SMALLER SYSTEMS INTO THE WESTERN
MAINLAND OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS.  THIS WEEKEND AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE
WILL BUILD FROM THE NORTH PACIFIC OVER THE MAINLAND... THEN SLOWLY
ADVANCE EASTWARD AS THE UPPER LEVEL LOW IN THE BERING DROPS SOUTH OF
THE ALEUTIANS.

...SNOW DEPTH...

SNOW DEPTHS HAVE NOT CHANGED SIGNIFICANTLY OVER THE LAST SEVERAL
DAYS.  REPORTED SNOW DEPTHS IN THE EASTERN INTERIOR ARE GENERALLY IN
THE 9 TO 17 INCH RANGE... WHILE REPORTED SNOW DEPTHS IN SOUTHCENTRAL
ALASKA GENERALLY RANGE BETWEEN 2 AND 31 INCHES.

...ICE THICKNESS...

ICE THICKNESS MEASURED AT THE START OF DECEMBER INCLUDED: BETWEEN 7
TO 9 INCHES AROUND ANCHORAGE... 8 INCHES AT BETHEL... BETWEEN 7 AND
22 INCHES IN THE MIDDLE TANANA BASIN... 20 INCHES AT COLVILLE
VILLAGE... AND 30 INCHES AT BETTLES.

...LONG RANGE...

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES OF ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE MAINLAND.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED CHANCES FOR
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION OVER MOST OF THE CENTRAL AND WESTERN
MAINLAND... AND INCREASED CHANCES FOR BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION
OVER CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN SOUTHEAST.
