1108 AM CDT WED AUG 20 2014 /1208 PM EDT WED AUG 20 2014/

THIS HAZARDOUS WEATHER OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTH CENTRAL ILLINOIS...
NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.

.DAY ONE...THIS AFTERNOON AND TONIGHT.

  WEATHER HAZARDS EXPECTED:

   SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS...SOME COULD PRODUCE:
   WIND GUSTS TO 50 MPH.
   FREQUENT CLOUD TO GROUND LIGHTNING.
   LOCALLY HEAVY RAINFALL.

  AREAS AFFECTED AND TIMING:

ISOLATED STORMS ARE POSSIBLE OVER THE ENTIRE AREA THIS AFTERNOON
AND ONCE AGAIN THIS EVENING ALONG A LASALLE TO FOWLER
LINE...THEN EXPANDING NORTH WITH THUNDERSTORMS LIKELY ACROSS THE
  ENTIRE OUTLOOK AREA OVERNIGHT.

  DISCUSSION:

A STATIONARY FRONTAL BOUNDARY SITUATED ACROSS THE REGION WILL
BEGIN LIFTING NORTH THIS AFTERNOON WITH LOW LEVEL MOISTURE
POOLING ALONG THIS FRONT. THUNDERSTORMS ARE EXPECTED TO STEADILY
BUILD IN COVERAGE LATE THIS AFTERNOON THROUGH THIS
EVENING...STEADILY LIFTING NORTH ACROSS NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND
NORTHWEST INDIANA. WITH MOISTURE RICH AIR LIFTING NORTH WITH THE
BOUNDARY...SOME OF THE THUNDERSTORMS COULD EASILY PRODUCE BRIEF
HEAVY DOWNPOURS WHICH COULD LEAD TO LOCALIZED FLOODING TONIGHT.
IN ADDITION A FEW OF THE STRONGEST THUNDERSTORMS MAY BE CAPABLE
OF PRODUCING WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH...MAINLY OVERNIGHT.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY.

THERE WILL CONTINUE TO BE PERIODIC CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS
THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY. THE BEST CHANCE FOR STORMS WILL BE
THURSDAY AND FRIDAY. HEAVY RAINFALL COULD OCCUR WITH ANY
THUNDERSTORMS THAT AFFECT THE AREA.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

SPOTTER ACTIVATION WILL NOT BE NECESSARY THROUGH TONIGHT THOUGH
RAINFALL REPORTS WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
