THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN NEW YORK HAS ISSUED A SMALL CRAFT
ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 6 PM EST
MONDAY. A GALE WATCH HAS ALSO BEEN ISSUED. THIS GALE WATCH IS IN
EFFECT FROM MONDAY EVENING THROUGH LATE MONDAY NIGHT.

* WINDS...EAST WINDS 10 TO 20 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 30 KT AFTER
  MIDNIGHT TONIGHT...CONTINUE INTO MONDAY. OCCASIONAL GUSTS TO 35
  KT ARE POSSIBLE EAST OF MORICHES INLET MONDAY MORNING. WINDS
  SHIFT TO THE NORTHWEST LATE MONDAY AND SHOULD INCREASE TO 20 TO
  30 KT WITH GUSTS UP TO 40 KT MONDAY NIGHT.

* SEAS...BUILDING TO 4 TO 8 FT MONDAY MORNING...THEN TO 5 TO 11
  FEET MONDAY NIGHT. THE HIGHEST SEAS WILL BE EAST OF MORICHES
  INLET.

* TIMING...THE STRONGEST WINDS AND HIGHEST SEAS WILL BE MONDAY
  NIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A SMALL CRAFT ADVISORY MEANS THAT SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OR
FREQUENT GUSTS OF 25 TO 33 KT AND/OR SEAS OF 5 FT OR HIGHER ARE
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING...AND HAZARDOUS TO SMALL CRAFT.
INEXPERIENCED MARINERS...ESPECIALLY THOSE OPERATING SMALLER
VESSELS...SHOULD AVOID NAVIGATING IN THESE CONDITIONS.

A GALE WATCH IS ISSUED WHEN THE RISK OF GALE FORCE WINDS OF 34 TO
47 KT HAS SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASED...BUT THE SPECIFIC TIMING
AND/OR LOCATION IS STILL UNCERTAIN. IT IS INTENDED TO PROVIDE
ADDITIONAL LEAD TIME FOR MARINERS WHO MAY WISH TO CONSIDER
ALTERING THEIR PLANS.
