...Strong to locally damaging winds will affect much of
Southwestern California later this afternoon into Friday
morning...

.Another round of very strong northwest to north is expected to
affect much of Southwestern California through Friday morning.
Winds will be strongest in and around the Interstate 5 corridor
this evening where gusts to between 70 and 80 mph are expected.
Across the Santa Barbara County mountains and adjacent south
coast, in the Santa Clarita Valley, and in the Santa Monica
Mountains, damaging gusts of 60 to 65 mph are expected. In most
other coastal and valley areas, wind gusts will reach 40 to 50
mph.

* Winds and Timing...Areas of northwest to north winds 20 to 30
  mph with gusts to 50 mph will increase to 30 to 50 mph with
  gusts to 80 mph this afternoon, then continue through early
  Friday morning before diminishing. Winds will be strongest
  through the Interstate 5 corridor.

* Impact...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers.

  the Santa Ynez Range, and especially in the hills above
  Montecito.

  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. Major roads that will
  be affected include highways 101, 154 and 192...as well as the

to 65 mph this afternoon, then continue through late tonight
before diminishing. Winds will be strongest in western portions
of the valley and in the foothills.

* Impacts...Winds this strong may down trees and power lines,
  causing property damage or power outages. Cross winds can make
  driving difficult, especially for drivers of high profile
  vehicles and vehicles towing trailers. Major road that will be
  affected include Highways 14 and 138, especially near the
  foothills. Patchy blowing dust will reduce visibilities to one
  quarter mile or less at times.

  gusts to 40 mph through early afternoon. Winds will increase to
25 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph this afternoon, especially
near Gaviota Pass. As winds turn more northerly this evening,
the strongest winds are expected to shift to San Marcos pass and
the Montecito area. Winds will begin to diminish early Friday.
