...High Wind Warning Today for the Cody Foothills...

.A strong surface pressure gradient, and favorable atmospheric
conditions will result in strong to high wind across portions of
the Cody Foothills today.

...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 6 PM MST THIS EVENING...

The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a High Wind
Warning, which is in effect until 6 PM MST this evening.

* TIMING...Strong to High Wind at times today.

* Where...From about 10 miles south of Cody, north to around
  Clark.

* WINDS...West 20 to 40 mph with gusts to 60 mph. A few wind gusts
  of 70 mph could occur between Clark and Cody.

* OBSERVED WINDS...At 5 AM, a wind sensor around 8 miles south of
  Clark measured a wind gust of 64 mph. Also a wind gust of 50
  mph was observed on the west side of Cody at 520 AM.

* IMPACTS...Mainly to transportation. Sudden, strong cross winds
  will enhance the blow over risk for lightweight and high profile
  vehicles, especially along north to south orientated roadways
  such as highway 120.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph or gusts
of 58 mph or more can lead to property damage.
