...ELEVATED FIRE WEATHER CONDITIONS EXPECTED TODAY ACROSS THE
SOUTHWEST HALF OF THE COMBINED TEXAS AND OKLAHOMA PANHANDLES...

* Affected Area...Areas generally west and south of a line from
  Boise City to Dumas to Panhandle to Wellington.

* 20 Foot Winds...West at 25 to 35 MPH with gusts up to 45 MPH.

* Relative Humidity...Falling into the 10 to 20 percent range.

* Timing...Between 11 AM and 8 PM today.

Outdoor burning and activities that cause open sparks or flames
are discouraged. Fire and emergency officials should be aware that
weather conditions will be favorable for the development of
large grass fires.

A Red Flag Warning will be in effect today for Oldham, Deaf Smith,
Potter, Randall and Armstrong Counties. For additional information
see Red Flag Warning issued by the National Weather Service in
Amarillo.
