AND THE SANTA CLARITA VALLEY...

...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH FRIDAY
MORNING OVER THE LOS ANGELES AND VENTURA COUNTY COASTS, AND THE
SAN FERNANDO VALLEY...

.DISCUSSION...The extended period of offshore flow will continue
into Friday...focused over Los Angeles and Ventura Counties. Little
change expected through Wednesday with peak gusts in the 20 to 40 mph
range in the wind prone areas. Strengthening is expected Thursday
into early Friday. The humidities will remain incredibly dry with
extremely poor overnight recoveries nearly everywhere. This will
result in continued critical conditions into Friday, especially
Thursday afternoon and night when the winds peak. The Santa
Barbara County Mountains may experience critical conditions
Thursday afternoon and night.

FRIDAY MORNING FOR GUSTY NORTHEAST WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE
HUMIDITY OVER THE VENTURA COASTS...

The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
Fire Weather Watch for gusty northeast winds and low relative
humidity, which is in effect from Thursday morning through Friday
morning. The previous Red Flag Warning has been cancelled a few
hours early.

* Winds...Northeast 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 40 mph Thursday
  into Friday morning.

* Relative Humidity...Daily minimum 5 to 10 percent with poor
  overnight recovery.

* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
  for rapid spread of wildfire and extreme fire behavior that
  could lead to a threat to life and property. Use extreme caution
  with potential fire ignition sources.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible Red
Flag Warnings.

  to 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 50 mph by Thursday.

* Relative Humidity...Daily minimum 2 to 6 percent becoming 5 to
  10 percent on Thursday. Very poor overnight recovery.

* Impacts...If fire ignition occurs, there will be the potential
  for rapid spread of wildfire and extreme fire behavior that
  could lead to a threat to life and property. Use extreme caution
  with potential fire ignition sources.
