EXTREME FIRE DANGER FOR THE GUADALUPE, DAVIS, AND APACHE
MOUNTAINS, SOUTHEAST NEW MEXICO PLAINS, VAN HORN AND THE HIGHWAY
54 CORRIDOR, REEVES COUNTY AND THE UPPER TRANS PECOS, AND LOVING,
WINKLER, WARD, PECOS, PRESIDIO, AND BREWSTER COUNTIES...

...A FIRE WEATHER WATCH HAS BEEN ISSUED FRIDAY FOR THE SOUTHEAST
NEW MEXICO PLAINS... THE TRANS PECOS... AND THE DAVIS MOUNTAINS.

.Critical to extremely critical fire weather today, combined with
with very dry conditions and high fire danger will result in
a Significant Fire Potential. Large, problematic fires are
possible. Dry and windy conditions will persist into the evening,
so relief will be slow to come. Similar but not as bad fire
weather conditions possible Friday.

The National Weather Service in Midland/Odessa has issued a Fire
Weather Watch, which is in effect from Friday afternoon through
Friday evening.

* HUMIDITY...Today 5 TO 10 Percent.
             Friday 10 to 15 Percent.

* WIND...Today above 6000 feet...southwest increasing to 30 to 50
         mph in the afternoon. Below 6000 feet...southwest 20 to 25 mph
         increasing to 25 to 45 mph in the afternoon.
         Friday...west 15 to 25 mph.

* FIRE DANGER...High to extreme.

* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly.
  Outdoor burning is not recommended.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Do not throw cigarettes onto the ground or out of a moving
vehicle. Do not drive through tall grass. Avoid activities that
may produce outdoor flames or sparks. Accidental ignitions will
have the potential to grow rapidly into dangerous wind-driven
wildfires.

A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
Red Flag Warnings.
