YET ANOTHER UNSEASONABLY COOL START TO THE WORK DAY FOR EASTERN
KENTUCKY...WHERE MORNING LOW TEMPERATURES DIPPED INTO THE UPPER 50S
AND LOWER 60S. AREAS OF DENSE VALLEY FOG WERE ALSO PRESENT...BUT
LIFTED BY MID-MORNING. TODAYS NORMAL LOW TEMPERATURE IS 64 DEGREES.

CLEAR SKIES AND WARM TEMPERATURES DOMINATED IN THE AFTERNOON. BY
3PM...TEMPERATURES WERE CLIMBING INTO THE MID 80S WHICH IS RIGHT
AROUND THE NORMAL OF 83 DEGREES.

UNFORTUNATELY...THE DRY AND PLEASANT CONDITIONS WILL COME TO AN END
TOMORROW WITH THE RETURN OF HIGHER HUMIDITY AND THE THREAT FOR
ISOLATED SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THIS THREAT EXTENDS THROUGH LABOR
DAY WEEKEND AND OUR ESTEEMED HONEY FESTIVAL IN BREATHITT COUNTY.
TEMPERATURES WILL ALSO CONTINUE RISING WITH HIGHS FORECASTED TO BE
NEAR 90 ON FRIDAY AND SATURDAY.

ON THIS DATE IN WEATHER HISTORY...IN 2008...COOL AND PLEASANT
CONDITIONS KEPT HIGH TEMPERATURES 10-15 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL. IN
FACT...THE JACKSON AIRPORT SET A MINIMUM HIGH RECORD TEMPERATURE OF
71 DEGREES FOR THE SECOND DAY IN A ROW.
