...WINTER STORM WILL IMPACT THE REGION TODAY INTO TONIGHT...

.THE WINTER STORM HAS BEEN SLOW TO DEVELOP BUT WILL STILL AFFECT
THE REGION TODAY. SNOW IS EXPECTED TO INCREASE IN COVERAGE AND
INTENSITY AROUND DAYBREAK THIS MORNING OR SHORTLY AFTER.

A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL BRING ACCUMULATING SNOW TO THE REGION
TODAY. MANY AREAS WILL RECEIVE 2 TO 4 INCHES OF SNOW WITH THIS
STORM...BUT SOME AREAS WILL RECEIVE IN EXCESS OF 6
INCHES...ESPECIALLY ACROSS SOUTH CENTRAL SOUTH DAKOTA WHERE
AMOUNTS UP TO 12 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. IN ADDITION...GUSTY
NORTHERLY WINDS ARE EXPECTED TODAY...WHICH WILL LEAD TO AREAS OF
BLOWING AND DRIFTING SNOW...ESPECIALLY ON THE SOUTH DAKOTA PLAINS.
