DISCUSSION...
Strong to severe thunderstorms will develop by early this
afternoon ahead of a cold front approaching from the northwest.
The greatest coverage of showers and storms will be along and
southeast of Interstate 44. Large to very large hail, damaging
winds, and a few tornadoes are expected this afternoon and early
evening, with the greater tornado chances from southeast Oklahoma
into northwest Arkansas. Locally heavy rainfall will also
accompany the stronger storms, with some localized flooding
possible in parts of southeast Oklahoma and northwest Arkansas.
Thunderstorms will end from northwest to southeast this evening as
the cold front sweeps across the area.
