THIS OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS AS WELL AS
MUCH OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...SIGNIFICANT.
AREA...EASTERN OKLAHOMA...WEST CENTRAL AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS.
ONSET...LATE MORNING.

AREA AT GREATEST RISK...MOST OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS.


DISCUSSION...
DANGEROUSLY HOT CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE AS HEAT INDEX VALUES
RANGE FROM 105 TO 115 DEGREES THIS AFTERNOON. AN EXCESSIVE HEAT
WARNING WILL BE IN EFFECT FROM NOON TO 8PM TODAY FOR MUCH OF
EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS. A HEAT ADVISORY WILL
BE IN EFFECT FOR THE REST OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST
ARKANSAS FOR THE SAME TIME PERIOD.

AN EXTENDED PERIOD OF HOT AND HUMID WEATHER IS EXPECTED INTO NEXT
WEEK AS AN UPPER LEVEL RIDGE REMAINS CENTERED ACROSS THE REGION.
AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES BETWEEN 105 AND 110 DEGREES APPEAR
LIKELY DURING THIS PERIOD. HERE WILL BE LOW CHANCES FOR THUNDERSTORMS
AS THE UPPER RIDGE MOVES SLIGHTLY WEST LATER NEXT WEEK.
