...HEAT ADVISORY CONTINUES FOR MUCH OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA WEDNESDAY...

THIS OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS AS WELL AS
MUCH OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA.

.DAY ONE...THIS EVENING AND TONIGHT.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...LIMITED.
AREA...FAR NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS.
ONSET...AFTER MIDNIGHT.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...ELEVATED.
AREA...NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA.
ONSET...ONGOING.

DISCUSSION...
DANGEROUS HEAT CONDITIONS RESULTING IN HEAT INDICES OF AROUND 100
TO AROUND 106 DEGREES IS EXPECTED TO CONTINUE INTO THE EVENING
HOURS BEFORE DECREASING WITH THE LOSS OF DAYTIME HEATING.

A WEAK COLD FRONT POSITIONED ACROSS NORTHERN KANSAS LATE THIS
AFTERNOON IS EXPECTED TO SAG SOUTHWARD OVERNIGHT. THUNDERSTORMS
BECOME POSSIBLE ALONG THE FRONT DURING THE NIGHT...WHICH COULD
PUSH INTO FAR NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA AND ALSO NORTHWEST ARKANSAS
AFTER MIDNIGHT. A LIMITED SEVERE POTENTIAL WILL BE POSSIBLE WITH
STRONG WINDS AND HAIL BEING THE MAIN HAZARDS.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
LOCAL SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT EXPECTED TO BE NEEDED.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
THUNDERSTORM CHANCES INCREASE DURING THE DAY WEDNESDAY AS THE WEAK
FRONT ENTERS INTO EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS. HOT
AND HUMID CONDITIONS LOOK TO REMAIN ACROSS THE REGION...ALLOWING
FOR HEAT ADVISORIES TO CONTINUE FOR MUCH OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA
WEDNESDAY. THESE CONDITIONS COMBINED WITH INSTABILITY INTERACTING
WITH THE FRONT COULD CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR SEVERE WEATHER.

THE WEAK FRONT PUSHES THROUGH THE REGION THURSDAY AND THEN BACK
NORTHWARD FRIDAY. THUS...CONTINUING DANGEROUS HEAT CONDITIONS
ACROSS PARTS OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS INTO THE
WEEKEND. A SECOND COLD FRONT LOOKS TO APPROACH AND PUSH INTO THE
REGION LATE IN THE WEEKEND AND THE START OF NEXT WEEK WITH
POSSIBLE THUNDERSTORM CHANCES.
