THIS OUTLOOK IS FOR NORTHWEST AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS AS WELL AS
MUCH OF EASTERN OKLAHOMA.

.DAY ONE...TODAY AND TONIGHT.

SEVERE THUNDERSTORM.
RISK...LIMITED.
AREA...EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND NORTHWEST ARKANSAS.
ONSET...THIS AFTERNOON.

DANGEROUS HEAT.
RISK...LIMITED TO ELEVATED.
AREA...EASTERN OKLAHOMA AND WEST CENTRAL ARKANSAS.
ONSET...EARLY AFTERNOON.

DISCUSSION...
ISOLATED TO SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS ARE ONGOING EARLY THIS MORNING
ACROSS PORTIONS OF NORTH CENTRAL OKLAHOMA AND INTO SOUTHERN AND
EASTERN KANSAS. SOME OF THESE THUNDERSTORMS MAY DEVELOP OR MOVE
INTO ADJACENT PORTIONS OF NORTHEAST OKLAHOMA LATER THIS
MORNING...WITH COVERAGE LIKELY TO BE FAIRLY LIMITED.

ADDITIONAL THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT WILL BE POSSIBLE THROUGH THE
DAY...AS THE UPPER LEVEL RIDGE CONTINUES TO MOVE WESTWARD.
WIDESPREAD SEVERE WEATHER IS NOT ANTICIPATED...BUT A FEW OF THE
STRONGER STORMS COULD PRODUCE GUSTY WINDS.

TEMPERATURES THIS AFTERNOON WILL BE A FEW DEGREES COOLER THAN THE
AREA HAS SEEN THE PAST SEVERAL DAYS DUE TO INCREASED CLOUD COVER
AND THE WEAKENING RIDGE. MAXIMUM AFTERNOON HEAT INDEX VALUES WILL
BE IN THE 100 TO 105 RANGE IN MOST SPOTS.

SPOTTER AND EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ACTION STATEMENT...
LOCAL SPOTTER ACTIVATION IS NOT LIKELY.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...TUESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY.
TUESDAY...THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL...DANGEROUS HEAT POTENTIAL.
WEDNESDAY THROUGH SUNDAY...THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL.

EXTENDED DISCUSSION...
INCREASED THUNDERSTORM POTENTIAL WILL CONTINUE THROUGH THE WORK
WEEK AND INTO NEXT WEEKEND...AS THE RIDGE ESTABLISHES ITSELF
ACROSS THE WESTERN UNITED STATES. THE LATTER PART OF THE WORK WEEK
SHOULD FEATURE THE HIGHEST THUNDERSTORM CHANCES...IN ADDITION TO
BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES...AS NORTHWEST FLOW ALOFT DEVELOPS
ACROSS THE CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN PLAINS REGION.
