...NWS DAMAGE SURVEY FOR 05/10/15 TORNADO EVENT - UPDATE 1...

.UPDATE...UPDATED INFORMATION FOR RED OAK TORNADO AND MOYERS
TORNADO. ALSO ADDED ADDITIONAL TORNADO NORTH OF RED OAK.

.OVERVIEW...AN NWS STORM SURVEY TEAM HAS CONFIRMED THREE TORNADOES
IN SOUTHEASTERN OKLAHOMA FROM A SUPERCELL THUNDERSTORM DURING THE
EVENING OF MAY 10TH. THE TEAM ALSO INVESTIGATED DAMAGE ON THE SOUTH
SIDE OF MCALESTER TO NEAR KREBS THAT OCCURRED DURING THE MORNING
OF MAY 10TH THAT WILL REQUIRE ADDITIONAL INVESTIGATION. AN
INTERMITTENTLY STRONG ANTICYCLONIC RADAR COUPLET THAT TRANSLATED
FROM SOUTHEASTERN PITTSBURG COUNTY TO NEAR VETERANS COLONY IN
LATIMER COUNTY DURING THE MORNING OF MAY 10TH WAS ALSO
INVESTIGATED AND NO DAMAGE COULD BE FOUND. POSSIBLE DAMAGE AS A
RESULT OF A TORNADO IS STILL BEING INVESTIGATED SOUTHWEST OF AND
NEAR SARDIS LAKE. ANYONE WITH ANY INFORMATION THAT MAY ASSIST US
COMPLETING OUR DOCUMENTATION OF THIS EVENT...IS URGED TO CONTACT

SURVEY SUMMARY: SEVERAL STORM CHASERS WITNESSED A TORNADO NORTHWEST
OF MOYERS. THE SURVEY TEAM COULD NOT ACCESS THE AREA THIS TORNADO
LIKELY OCCURRED BY ROAD AND THERE IS NO KNOWN DAMAGE. THE LOCATION
IS ESTIMATED BASED ON TIME OF THE CHASERS OBSERVATIONS AND RADAR
DATA.

SURVEY SUMMARY: THIS TORNADO DEVELOPED SOUTHWEST OF THE INTERSECTION
OF HIGHWAY 1 AND HIGHWAY 2 IN OPEN COUNTRY. A WOOD FRAMED BUILDING
WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED NEAR THE BEGINNING OF THE TORNADO AS IT
NEARED HIGHWAY 2. NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED AS THE
TORNADO MOVED NORTHEAST OVER HEAVILY WOODED COUNTRY WHERE AN OIL
DRILLING PLATFORM WAS DAMAGED AND A HOME DESTROYED. MORE HOMES
WERE DAMAGED AS THE TORNADO CROSSED SE HULSEY PRAIRIE ROAD AND
NUMEROUS TREES WERE SNAPPED AND UPROOTED AS IT CONTINUED TO SE
120TH ROAD WHERE A METAL BUILDING WAS SEVERELY DAMAGED. THE
TORNADO THEN DAMAGED THE CRAVENS VFD...SNAPPED AND UPROOTED
TREES...AND DAMAGED OUTBUILDINGS BEFORE DISSIPATING PRIOR TO
REACHING NE 120TH ROAD. BASED ON THE DAMAGE TO A HOME...A METAL
BUILDING...AND LARGE SWATHS OF TREES THAT WERE VIRTUALLY CLEARED
BY THE TORNADO...THE SURVEY TEAM CAME TO THE EF-2 RATING.

A LOT OF THIS TORNADO PATH WAS OVER OPEN COUNTRY...AREAS NOT
ACCESSIBLE BY ROAD...OR AREAS GATED OR BEYOND FLOODED ROADS.

SURVEY SUMMARY: THIS TORNADO DEVELOPED NORTHWEST OF RED OAK AND
MOVED NORTHEAST...DISSIPATING NORTHEAST OF RED OAK. LARGE TREE
LIMBS WERE SNAPPED BY THE TORNADO.

FOLLOWING CATEGORIES.
