892 WGUS82 KCAE 051045 FLSCAE Flood Advisory National Weather Service Columbia SC 645 AM EDT Sun May 5 2024 SCC063-079-051345- /O.NEW.KCAE.FA.Y.0016.240505T1045Z-240505T1345Z/ /00000.N.ER.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.000000T0000Z.OO/ Lexington SC-Richland SC- 645 AM EDT Sun May 5 2024 ...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 945 AM EDT THIS MORNING... * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of central South Carolina, including the following counties, Lexington and Richland. * WHEN...Until 945 AM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 644 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Columbia, West Columbia, Cayce, Forest Acres, Springdale, St. Andrews, Oak Grove, Pine Ridge, West Columbia Riverwalk, Riverbanks Zoo, SC State Fair Grounds, Five Points, Olympia, Cayce Riverwalk, Eau Claire, Rosewood and Seven Oaks. - This includes the following highways... Interstate 126 between mile markers 0 and 3. Interstate 26 between mile markers 108 and 115.
