 ...MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL WILL LEAD TO POTENTIAL FLOODING OF
SMALL STREAMS AND MAINSTEM RIVERS WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY...

* WHAT...A potent frontal system will approaches the area from the
  northwest on Tuesday. This will set up an Atmospheric River
  event and bring moderate to heavy rainfall late Tuesday night
  through Thursday, with lingering showers through Friday.
  Rainfall totals will range from 2 to 4 inches. Locally up to 7
  inches are possible over the south-facing terrain. The heaviest
  rainfall will lead to rapid rises of small streams, creeks and
  rivers. Localized ponding of water for low-lying or poorly
  drained areas. Mainstem rivers will rise quickly on Wednesday,
  with potentially reaching or exceeding flood stage on Thursday.
  There is a 25% probability of peak exceeding flood stage for Eel
  River at Fernbridge, Navarro River at Navarro and Russian River
  at Hopland.


* WHERE...The heaviest rainfall is expected to occur over
  Humboldt, southern Trinity, Mendocino, and Lake Counties where
  flooding is most likely.

* WHEN...Wednesday through late Wednesday night will see the
  heaviest rain with flood impacts likely lingering through
  Thursday.
