.Synopsis For High Island to the Matagorda Ship Channel Out 60 NM
including Galveston and Matagorda Bays.

Moderate to strong winds with increasing seas are expected into tonight
as a low pressure system develops and crosses the area. The strongest
winds are expected to be across portions of Galveston Bay and the coastal
waters adjacent to it, with slightly lower winds lower down the coast.
Small Craft Advisories are in effect through late Thursday night for
Galveston Bay and the Gulf waters out 60 NM as the onshore flow strengthens
to 20 to 25 knots with gusts to 30 knots. Small craft should also exercise
caution in the waters off of Matagorda Bay into tonight as onshore winds
gust to 20 knots and seas build to around 6 feet. Scattered showers
and thunderstorms, some potentially strong to severe, will persist
into tonight as the coastal low moves through the region. Light to
moderate offshore winds develop Friday and continue through Saturday
night, then moderate to strong onshore winds return on Sunday.
