...River Statement For The Elk River at Fayetteville...

Runoff from recent rainfall is expected to cause river levels to
remain elevated on the Elk River at Fayetteville. Although it is not
expected to reach flood stage, some nuisance flooding of lowlands
may still occur. If additional rainfall occurs, the river could
still reach Flood Stage.

The Elk River at Fayetteville.
* At 4:15 PM CDT Friday the stage was 15.6 feet.
* Action stage is 14.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.5 feet.
* Forecast...The river will slowly fall below action stage this
  evening, with a creast of around 15.6 feet.
* Impact...At 17.5 feet...Bottomland along the river begins to flood.

All persons with interests along the river should monitor the latest
forecasts, and be prepared to take necessary precautions to protect
life and property from rising river levels. Additional information
is available at www.weather.gov.
