Isolated to scattered embedded thunderstorms will be possible particularly this afternoon across southern areas. The main risk with thunderstorms will be lightning and small hail up to 1/2 inch in diameter. Thunder along with locally heavy snow bursts will be possible across the higher elevations this afternoon, with the potential for snow levels to drop to around 9000 feet under the more intense precipitation. Local accumulations of 3 to 6 inches will be possible across the higher peaks above 10000 feet, with up to 3 inches possible across the mountain passes at times where roads could get briefly slushy at times. Showers and thunderstorms will diminish from west to east this evening through the overnight hours. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Showers will increase in coverage during the day Sunday, with snow expected along the mountains, and rain shower and thunderstorms expected elsewhere. A strong storm or two can`t be ruled out across the eastern plains Sunday afternoon, with strong winds up to around 50 mph and small hail possible. Unsettled weather prevails through much of the new upcoming week. Snow showers are again expected for the mountains, with rain shower and thunderstorms still expected elsewhere. The greatest chance for heavier and more widespread precipitation will be Wednesday through Friday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
