...NWS Meteorologists Currently Surveying Storm Damage Near
Wilkesboro in Wilkes County North Carolina...

The National Weather Service office in Blacksburg VA is currently
conducting a storm survey for the area near Wilkesboro in Wilkes
County North Carolina, and has confirmed the occurance of a
tornado. The survey is in relation to the severe thunderstorms
that moved through the area on April 11, 2024.

More details and a final assessment, including results of the
survey, are expected to be completed and transmitted via a Public
Information Statement later today.
