San Diego River at Fashion Valley

Forecasts are based on present and forecast meteorological
and hydrological conditions at the time of issuance.


Fashion Valley  Monitor Stage  7.5 FT, Flood Stage 10.0 FT

For early this week, no impacts from the San Diego River are expected. For the end of the week, an incoming storm system is expected to bring periods of precipitation to the area. Current indications are most of the precipitation will fall Thursday into Friday, with the potential for scattered showers to continue into the weekend. Current forecast for the San Diego River has the river rising to monitor stage by the evening of Thursday Feb 1, 2024. Current forecast has the river peaking at 9.4 feet early Friday morning (Feb 2, 2024). There is a 70% chance the river will exceed monitor stage (7.5 ft) and a 37% chance the river will exceed flood stage (10 ft) through early Friday morning.

There is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the details of this forecast so please continue to monitor for changes and additional information in the coming days.

Current indications are most of the precipitation will fall Thursday into Friday, with the potential for scattered showers to continue into the weekend. Current forecast for the Santa Margarita River has the river rising to monitor stage by Thursday night (Feb 1, 2024). Current forecast has the river peaking at 9.4 feet early Friday morning (Feb 2, 2024). There is a 84% chance the river will exceed monitor stage (8.2 ft) and a less than 2% chance the river will exceed flood stage (11.2 ft) through early Friday morning.
