RANGELAND FIRE DANGER STATEMENT

.DISCUSSION...There is a slight chance of showers today over
southwestern into central South Dakota. High temperatures will be
in the mid-50s to the mid-60s. The minimum relative humidity will
range from around 30 percent in far northwestern south dakota to
around 50 percent in south central South Dakota. Northerly winds
of 15 to 25 mph are expected today with gusts as high as 35 mph.

...Low Fire Danger...

The grassland fire danger index will reach the low category this
afternoon. Favorable weather conditions or a high moisture
content of grasses, and other dry organic material on the ground,
indicate that the probability of a fire occurrence is low.
Outdoor burning under these conditions can usually be performed
with reasonable safety precautions.

The outlook for Wednesday afternoon, The grassland fire danger
index will reach the low category.
