.DISCUSSION...DRY WEATHER AND ABOVE AVERAGE TEMPERATURES WILL
CONTINUE TODAY AND TUESDAY. WINDS WILL BE A LITTLE BREEZY ACROSS
THE SOUTH DAKOTA PLAINS TODAY...WITH TEMPERATURES IN THE
70S...PUTTING THE RANGE LAND FIRE DANGER INTO THE HIGH TO VERY
HIGH CATEGORY. EVEN WARMER TEMPERATURES AND BREEZIER WINDS ARE
EXPECTED ON TUESDAY. MOST PLACES WILL BE IN THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY
FOR TUESDAY...WITH NORTHWEST SD REMAINING IN THE HIGH CATEGORY.

VERY LOW MOISTURE CONTENT OF GRASSES...AND OTHER DRY
ORGANIC MATERIAL ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT DANGEROUS
BURNING CONDITIONS EXIST. FIRES WILL SPREAD RAPIDLY AND
SHOW ERRATIC BEHAVIOR. OUTDOOR BURNING IS NOT RECOMMENDED.

THE OUTLOOK FOR TUESDAY AFTERNOON...THE GRASSLAND FIRE DANGER
INDEX WILL REACH THE VERY HIGH CATEGORY.

ON THE GROUND...INDICATE THAT THERE IS A MODERATE TO HIGH
POTENTIAL FOR A FIRE OCCURRENCE. OUTDOOR BURNING SHOULD BE
RESTRICTED TO EARLY MORNING OR EVENING HOURS WHEN WIND SPEEDS
ARE USUALLY LOWER AND THE RELATIVE HUMIDITY IS HIGHER.
