...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THIS MORNING TO 7 PM MDT
THIS EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS AND LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY FOR
NORTHWEST SOUTH DAKOTA...

.Minimum relative humidities around 15 percent will occur this
afternoon. Expect northwest winds from 10 to 20 MPH with frequent
gusts to 25 MPH. The combination of very dry air and gusty winds
will create critical fire weather conditions this afternoon.

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Red Flag
Warning for gusty winds and low relative humidity...which is in
effect from 11 AM this morning to 7 PM MDT this evening.

* Affected Area...Fire Weather Zones 261 and 266.

* Winds...Northwest 10 to 20 mph with frequent gusts around 25
  mph.

* Relative Humidity...Around 15 percent.

* Impacts...The combination of gusty winds and low relative
  humidities will produce critical fire weather conditions.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
