URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

...SPRING STORM TO BRING RAIN AND SNOW TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY...

.A spring storm system will move across the high plains tonight
and Tuesday, bringing rain and snow to much of the area. Rain
showers will develop this evening, with rain expected to change
over to snow overnight and early Tuesday across much of northeast
Wyoming, the Black Hills, and parts of the western South Dakota
plains. The highest snowfall amounts will generally be across the
higher elevations of the Bear Lodge Mountains and northern Black
Hills, with up to several inches of snow possible across the
northeast Wyoming plains, parts of northwest South Dakota and the
rest of the Black Hills, including the Spearfish to Sturgis areas.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 3 PM
MDT TUESDAY...

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow, which is in effect from midnight tonight
to 3 PM MDT Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in
effect.

* TIMING...Rain will move into the area this evening, changing
  over to snow overnight. Snow will persist into Tuesday morning,
  tapering off in the afternoon.

* MAIN IMPACT...Snowfall totals of 4 to 8 inches are expected,
  with the higher elevations of the Bear Lodge Mountains generally
  seeing the highest amounts.

* OTHER IMPACTS...With many trees beginning to leaf out, the heavy
  wet snow could bring down some tree limbs.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A winter storm warning for heavy snow means snow accumulations
will create dangerous conditions.

tonight to 3 PM MDT Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer

  over to snow after midnight. Snow will persist into Tuesday
  morning, tapering off in the afternoon.

* MAIN IMPACT...Snowfall totals of 3 to 6 inches are expected,
  with locally higher amounts possible, especially across far northern
  Campbell and northern Crook counties.

* OTHER IMPACTS...With many trees beginning to leaf out, the heavy
  wet snow could bring down some tree limbs.

MDT Tuesday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* TIMING...Rain will move into the area this evening, changing
  over to snow late tonight and early Tuesday morning. Snow will
  persist through Tuesday morning, tapering off in the afternoon.

* MAIN IMPACT...Snowfall totals of 1 to 4 inches are expected,
  with the higher elevations of southern Campbell County and
  northern Weston County generally seeing the highest amounts.

* OTHER IMPACTS...With many trees beginning to leaf out, the heavy
  wet snow could bring down some tree limbs.
