URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

.A strong storm system will move into the Pacific coast today and
Wednesday...then push into the central to northern Great Plains
Thursday as it continues to strengthen. This will likely bring
heavy snow to portions of the northern Great Plains. Heavy snow
will be possible across parts of northeast Wyoming and western to
central South Dakota, but uncertainty still exists on the track
of this system and resulting snowfall amounts across the area.
Snowfall will begin early Thursday morning and end late Thursday
night into Friday morning.

...WINTER STORM WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT THROUGH
FRIDAY MORNING...

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Winter
Storm Watch, which is in effect from late Wednesday night through
Friday morning.

* TIMING...Snow will begin late Wednesday night and continue
  through Thursday. Snow will end late Thursday night into Friday
  morning.

* MAIN IMPACT...Snow amounts of 6 inches or more are possible.

* OTHER IMPACTS...Slippery and hazardous road conditions will be
  possible. Travel may be difficult at times.


PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A winter storm watch means heavy snow...strong winds...freezing
precipitation...and cold temperatures are possible.  Monitor NOAA
weather radio...local radio or television...or the internet for
updates on this potentially dangerous storm. Take time to prepare
for severe winter conditions before the storm develops.
