URGENT - WINTER WEATHER MESSAGE

.A storm system will strengthen as it moves across the Northern
Rockies tonight. The system will then track east across portions
of the northern and central Plains Thursday into Friday. Snowfall
will develop across northeast Wyoming and southwest South Dakota
late tonight and move across much of South Dakota on Thursday. A
band of heavy snowfall is expected to develop across portions of
eastern Wyoming and southern South Dakota Thursday into Thursday
night, with 6 inches or more of snowfall expected. Snowfall will
begin to taper off from west to east on Friday. Blowing snow will
be possible with gusty winds. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio or local
media for the latest information...forecasts...and warnings.

...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 PM THIS EVENING TO
11 AM MST FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from 11 PM this
evening to 11 AM MST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer
in effect.

* Expect snow to develop late tonight and then diminish Friday
  morning.

* The heaviest snowfall will occur during the day on Thursday.

* Total snow accumulations of 7 to 13 inches are expected, with
  the higher amounts farther south.

* Look for significant reductions in visibility at times.

* Travel will be very difficult to impossible...especially during
  the morning and evening commutes on Thursday.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A winter storm warning for snow means severe winter weather
conditions are expected. If you must travel...keep an extra
flashlight...food and water in your vehicle in case of an

FRIDAY...

The National Weather Service in Rapid City has issued a Winter
Storm Warning for snow...which is in effect from 6 AM Thursday to
6 PM CST Friday. The Winter Storm Watch is no longer in effect.

* Expect snow to develop Thursday morning and then diminish Friday
  evening.

* The heaviest snowfall will occur Thursday afternoon and
  overnight.

* Total snow accumulations of 11 to 15 inches are expected.

* Look for significant reductions in visibility at times in
  blowing snow.

* Travel will be very difficult to impossible...especially during
  the evening commute on Thursday and morning commute on Friday.
