...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Montana...

  Tongue River at Birney affecting Rosebud County

.High water on the Tongue River resulting from recent heavy rains
over the Bighorn Mountains continues to cause minor flooding in the
Birney area. The river remains around flood stage this evening but
is expected to slowly fall below flood stage by early
Friday afternoon.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...This river flood statement means river flooding is
expected to continue to impact people and property in the warned
area.

  The Tongue River at Birney affecting Rosebud County.
* until Friday evening...or until the warning is cancelled.
* At 7 PM Thursday the stage was 6.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 6.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring.
* Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage by
Friday afternoon.
