Flood Advisory

...The Flood Advisory is cancelled for the following river in
Southwest Lower Michigan...

  Pine River At Alma affecting Gratiot County

.Recent river observations show that levels continue to rise on the
Pine River. Rises are expected to continue this morning before
cresting late this afternoon and evening. Areas immediately along
the river will be inundated with water, as well as roadways running
along and adjacent to the river.

Rainfall has exited the area this morning with no additional
rainfall expected through Thursday. The next chance of rain will
come Friday and again over the weekend. The following forecast is
based on observed and forecast 48 hour precipitation.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Safety message...Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

A flood advisory means minor flooding is possible and rivers are
forecast to exceed bankfull.  If you are in the advisory area remain
alert to possible flooding...or the possibility of the advisory being
upgraded to a warning.  Report observed flooding to local emergency
services or law enforcement and request they pass this information on
to the National Weather Service.

The Flood Advisory is cancelled for
  the Pine River At Alma.
* at 08 AM Wednesday the stage was 8.5 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 7.0 feet.
* Flood stage is 8.0 feet.
* Forecast, the river will continue to rise to near 8.8 feet this
  afternoon and evening.
* Impact, at 8.4 feet...Residences at junction of River and Downie
  Streets begin to flood.
