FLOOD STATEMENT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE INDIANAPOLIS IN

...A Flood Warning continues for portions of the following rivers in
Indiana...

  Muscatatuck River...Wabash River...White River...




.Flooding will continue to subside today and overnight with a few
locations falling to below flood stage. With more precipitation in
the forecast beginning tomorrow we could see a return to flooding in
areas that recently fell below and prolonged flooding in areas that
have remained above.


Precautionary/Preparedness Actions...

Motorists should never drive into flood water. Turn around and go
another way. Keep children away from flooded areas. Recreational and
agricultural interests should remain alert to changing river
conditions.

  The Wabash River at Lafayette.
* until further notice.
* At 10:46 AM Monday the stage was 13.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 12.8 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 14.0 feet...Lowland flooding is in progress.  High water affects
  river cabins near North 9th Street.  Low county roads are nearly
  impassable.  Tapawingo Park in West Lafayette begins to flood.

* until Friday morning.
* At 10:45 AM Monday the stage was 19.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Thursday evening.
* At 20.0 feet...A few county roads begin to flood.  Higher
  bottomlands begin to flood.  The first cottage upstream from US 136
  bridge may become isolated by high water.

* until further notice.
* At 10:45 AM Monday the stage was 20.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to a stage of 19.8 feet
  by tomorrow morning.
* At 20.0 feet...Park in Southern Montezuma begins to flood.  Higher
  bottomlands begin to flood.  Water backs up most local tributaries.
  River water is at the top of some private levees.  Lowest county
  roads begin to flood.  Park County Road 75 West begins to flood.

  The Wabash River at Terre Haute.
* until Saturday evening.
* At 10:00 AM Monday the stage was 19.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  Saturday morning.
* At 19.5 feet...Pottsville Street just northwest of Terre Haute is
  flooded.  Lowland flooding in progress with several river roads
  flooded in Clark County Illinois.  Local roads west of SR 63 in
  southwest Vigo County flooded during February 2014.  Some roads
  flooded as a result of an unrepaired levee.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Wabash River at Hutsonville Legacy Power Plant Site.
* until Tuesday July 14.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 22.8
  feet this afternoon.
* At 22.8 feet...Flooding extends to what is locally called River Road
  in several areas. River road is the rural way south from
  Hutsonville to Palestine.  Flooding in this area affects large
  expanses of agricultural land...river cabins and hunting areas on
  both sides of the river.  Most local...unimproved roads leading
  towards the river are flooded.  These roads led to farms...river
  cabins...private residences...levees and a few oil wells.

  The Wabash River at Riverton.
* until Wednesday July 15.
* At 10:00 AM Monday the stage was 22.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 15.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue to fall to below flood stage by
  early Wednesday morning.
* At 22.0 feet...Flooding becomes more serious.  Water is approaching
  critical levels on most levees.  Flooding enters some river cabins.
  Flooding is at the outskirts of Palestine and Russellville,
  Illinois.  Flood waters near Illinois 33 between Palestine and
  Hutsonville, Illinois.  Many local river roads are flooded.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The Wabash River at Vincennes.
* until Monday July 13.
* At 10:45 AM Monday the stage was 21.7 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast...The river will continue rising to near 21.8 feet by this
  evening. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday evening.
* At 22.0 feet...Almost all unprotected areas flood.  River cabins are
  surrounded by high water.  Oil fields in lowland areas are
  inaccessible by land vehicles.  Most local river roads flood.

* until Monday July 13.
* At  8:45 AM Monday the stage was 25.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and Moderate flooding is forecast.
* At 25.5 feet...Extensive lowland flooding in progress.  Much of the
  flood plain activity is affected by high water.  Numerous local
  river roads flood.

* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 17.3
  feet early tomorrow.
* At 18.0 feet...Floods area in a few low spots and woodland areas
  along the river.  Residential property is not directly at this
  point.

The Flood Warning continues for
  The White River at Petersburg.
* until Wednesday afternoon.
* At 10:30 AM Monday the stage was 20.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and Minor flooding is forecast.
* At 20.5 feet...County Road 250 West from State Road 56 floods and
  blocks the vehicle access to Dodge City.  During the March 2008
  flood the river remained above this level from late afternoon March
  19 through April 9.   As mid-March 2011 high water was receding...
  SR 257 south of Washington reopened when Shoals was at 10.5 feet
  and falling steadily for the past 2 days.

  The White River at Hazleton.
* until Thursday afternoon.
* Flood stage is 16.0 feet.
* Forecast...The river is forecast to have a maximum value of 21.2
  feet this afternoon.
* At 22.0 feet...In agricultural season, extensive flooding of
  bottomlands and some of the higher bottomlands is in progress.
  High water surrounds Residents in river cabins.  Oil fields and
  local roads flood.
