...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 615 PM CDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Kansas, including the following
  counties, Cherokee and Crawford and southwest Missouri, including
  the following counties, Barton and Jasper.

* WHEN...Until 615 PM CDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 205 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Pittsburg, Lamar, Columbus, Cherokee, Weir, Scammon,
    Mindenmines, West Mineral, Chicopee, Nashville, Asbury, Lamar
    Heights, Waco, Roseland, Irwin, Opolis, Lawton, Crestline,
    Skidmore, Stippville, Carona, Neutral, Iantha, Oakton,
    Boston, Sherwin, Hallowell, Kenoma and Faulkner.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Many flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
