FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR CENTRAL SOUTH CAROLINA
AND EAST CENTRAL GEORGIA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE COLUMBIA SC
255 PM EDT SAT SEP 24 2016

.DISCUSSION...DRY AND WARM WEATHER WILL CONTINUE INTO SUNDAY
AFTERNOON WITH WEAK HIGH PRESSURE OVER THE FORECAST AREA.
STRONGER HIGH PRESSURE CENTERED OVER THE GREAT LAKES WILL PUSH
A COLD FRONTAL BOUNDARY SOUTH TOWARD THE AREA LATE SUNDAY.
THE FRONT WILL LIKELY STALL NEAR THE AREA BY MONDAY MORNING...
WITH INCREASING ATLANTIC MOISTURE AND A BETTER CHANCE FOR
SHOWERS.

THE PRESSURE GRADIENT WILL REMAIN WEAK THIS EVENING THROUGH
EARLY SUNDAY MORNING...WITH POOR DISPERSION EXPECTED. SHALLOW
LOW-LEVEL MOISTURE WILL SUPPORT PATCHY LIGHT FOG MAINLY NEAR
RIVER VALLEYS.

SURFACE WINDS SUNDAY WILL BE FROM THE NORTHEAST LESS THAN 5 MPH
AFTER DAYBREAK...THEN BECOME EAST AROUND 5 MPH BY AFTERNOON.
TRANSPORT WINDS WILL BE SIMILAR WITH SPEEDS OF 5 TO 10 MPH.
RELATIVE HUMIDITIES WILL DROP TO NEAR 45 PERCENT ACROSS THE
PIEDMONT AND CENTRAL SAVANNAH RIVER AREA...AND 50 PERCENT
ACROSS THE NORTH AND CENTRAL MIDLANDS.
