Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Northern Alabama
National Weather Service Huntsville AL
233 PM CST Tue Jan 16 2018

.DISCUSSION...

Light snow will end from west to east this afternoon and into the
early evening hours. Very cold air moves in behind the departing
snow with wind chills below zero Wednesday morning. Winds remain
breezy out of the north through Wednesday morning but then begins
to taper off by the afternoon hours as high pressure moves into the
area. We won`t get back above freezing until Thursday when winds
start to turn back to the W/SW. With the high over the area transport
winds will be light and variable and due to the shallow cold airmass
still in place dispersion values will be poor.

Warmer weather finally returns to the area Saturday with winds now solidly
out of the S/SW. A system and cold front will move across the area
Sunday evening into Monday with rain possible through late Monday
morning. Min RH values increase back to around 40-50 percent Sat-Mon.

Fog potential over the next few days: None at this time.

Potential for Red Flag Conditions: Not at this time. We will have low
min RH values Thursday and Friday for portions of northern Alabama but
winds will not be high enough to warrant Red Flag conditions.
