FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
347 AM CST TUE DEC 6 2016

.DISCUSSION...
AFTER ANOTHER RAINY AND STORMY MORNING, A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL
MOVE OFF TO THE NORTHEAST LATER THIS MORNING GIVING WAY TO DRIER
WEATHER WITH LOW CLOUD COVER KEEPING TEMPERATURES IN THE LOW-MID 50S
FOR HIGHS TODAY. THEN, ANTICIPATING FOG MAY FORM TONIGHT MAINLY OVER
NORTHEAST ALABAMA.

DRY WEATHER WILL RETURN BRIEFLY ON WEDNESDAY BEFORE A STRONG COLD
FRONT APPROACHES ON WEDNESDAY EVENING BRINGING ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY
FOR LIGHT RAINFALL. ANTICIPATING RAINFALL AMOUNTS ON WEDNESDAY NIGHT
WILL BE GENERALLY NO GREATER THAN 0.25 INCH.

BREEZY NORTHWEST WINDS OF 10-15 MPH AND GUSTS TO 20 MPH ARE EXPECTED
AFTER THE FRONT PASSES WITH THE HIGHEST WINDS OVER NORTHWEST ALABAMA.
MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED AFTER THE FRONT PASSES WITH
DAYTIME HIGHS IN THE LOW 40S ON THURSDAY AND LOW TO MID 30S ON
FRIDAY WITH SUNNY SKY CONDITIONS. EVEN WITH THE EXTREMELY DRY
DEWPOINTS ON THURSDAY AND FRIDAY, NOT EXPECTING CRITICAL FIRE WEATHER
CONDITIONS DUE TO THE RECOVERING DEAD/LIVE FUEL MOISTURES.

RAIN THEN RETURNS TO THE FORECAST ON SUNDAY INTO MONDAY AS ANOTHER
UPPER LEVEL DISTURBANCE APPROACHES THE REGION.
