FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NORTHERN ALABAMA
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HUNTSVILLE AL
435 AM CDT TUE MAY 26 2015

.DISCUSSION...
A STRONG UPPER AIR DISTURBANCE WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD OVER THE
REGION TODAY...BRINGING ANOTHER ROUND OF WIDESPREAD SHOWERS AND
THUNDERSTORMS. ALTHOUGH THIS ACTIVITY WILL SLOWLY DRIFT TO THE
SOUTHEAST THIS EVENING...ANOTHER DISTURBANCE WILL BRING MORE
SHOWERS/STORMS TO THE REGION ON WEDNESDAY. ON AVERAGE...MOST OF
THE AREA WILL RECEIVE BETWEEN 1-2 INCHES OF ADDITIONAL RAINFALL
FROM TODAY-WEDNESDAY. HOWEVER...SOME LOCATIONS ACROSS NORTHEAST
ALABAMA MAY RECEIVE CLOSE TO 3 INCHES. THICK CLOUD COVER WILL
KEEP MIXING HEIGHTS AROUND 5 KFT BOTH TODAY AND TOMORROW...WITH
GOOD DISPERSION RATES FORECAST TO DIMINISH ON WEDNESDAY AS
TRANSPORT FLOW DECREASES TO 5-10 MPH.

FOR THE REMAINDER OF THE EXTENDED FORECAST PERIOD...A LARGE
UPPER-LEVEL RIDGE OF HIGH PRESSURE WILL ENCOMPASS THE ENTIRE
SOUTHEASTERN U.S. THERE WILL BE A CHANCE OF MAINLY AFTERNOON
AND EARLY EVENING SHOWERS/THUNDERSTORMS EACH DAY...WITH
SEASONABLY WARM AND HUMID CONDITIONS EXPECTED.
