Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Eastern Kentucky
National Weather Service Jackson KY
431 PM EDT Wed Mar 22 2017

...One More Dry Afternoon Expected on Thursday...

.DISCUSSION...High pressure will slowly drift off to the east
over the next 24 hours with southerly winds developing. Moisture
recovery on the ridges tonight will be somewhat poor with the dry
airmass remaining in place overnight. Another day of low RH can be
expected Thursday with RH falling to between 20 and 30 percent
again. Southerly winds will remain at 5 to 10 mph. A warm front
will cross Kentucky Thursday night with a slight increase in cloud
cover. Southwest winds will strengthen on Friday behind this
front ushering in very mild temperatures to end the week. These
winds will also usher in slight more moist conditions, keeping the
relative humidities a bit higher. A cold front passing through
the area late Saturday and Saturday night will bring the next
widespread rain to the area.
