FIRE WEATHER PLANNING FORECAST FOR NW OREGON AND SW WASHINGTON
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE PORTLAND OR
230 PM PDT FRI MAY 22 2015

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...A BROAD AND DIFFUSE UPPER LEVEL LOW
PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL REMAIN OVER THE AREA THROUGH THE WEEKEND.
THIS WILL MAINTAIN NEAR AVERAGE TEMPERATURES AND PLENTY OF MARINE
CLOUDS EACH DAY. THERE WILL ALSO BE A CHANCE OF SHOWERS OVER THE
CASCADES EACH AFTERNOON...BUT WETTING RAINS APPEAR UNLIKELY. WARMER
AND DRIER WEATHER APPEARS PROBABLE TOWARDS THE MIDDLE TO END OF
NEXT WEEK.

.DISCUSSION...A MOIST SHOWERY AIRMASS WILL SLOWLY COMING TO AN END
WITH PERHAPS A FEW ADDITIONAL SHOWERS BUILDING UP OVER THE
CASCADES SATURDAY AFTERNOON. MODEST ONSHORE PRESSURE GRADIENTS
THROUGH EARLY NEXT WEEK WILL RESULT IN A DEEP MARINE LAYER EACH
DAY AND BREEZY CONDITIONS IN THE CENTRAL COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE AND
ALONG THE CASCADE RIDGETOPS. AREAS OF MORNING DRIZZLE WILL BE MOST
PROBABLE SATURDAY AND MONDAY MORNINGS. CONDITIONS MAY DRY OUT AND
WARM ABOVE SEASONAL AVERAGES AS HIGH PRESSURE BUILDS OVER THE
REGION TOWARDS THE MIDDLE TO END OF NEXT WEEK...BUT SOME
UNCERTAINTY REMAINS.

***WINDS ARE 20 FOOT 10 MINUTE AVERAGES***
