Fire Weather Planning Forecast for NW Oregon and SW Washington
National Weather Service Portland OR
228 PM PDT Wed May 24 2017

...940 am briefings to begin Tuesday, May 30th...

.BROADCAST DISCUSSION...Onshore flow Wednesday afternoon will
begin to weaken tonight, and continue to weaken through the end of
the week. A ridge of high pressure aloft will rebuild over the
region Friday and Saturday, then remain into early next week for
warmer temperatures.

.DISCUSSION...Onshore flow weakens tonight and Thursday as an
upper level trough of low pressure from southern British Columbia
moves south through Washington and Oregon. This will shift the
small chances for showers from southwest Washington over to the
Cascades Thursday, including a slight chance for thunderstorms
over the northern part of the Cascades. Weak low level onshore
flow continues through the weekend as an upper level ridge builds
in. This will warm temperatures back above normal for the weekend
and into early next week, and push mid level Haines indices over
the Cascades back to Haines 6 values.
