Fire Weather Planning Forecast FOR S Cntrl and Sern Colorado
National Weather Service Pueblo Co
431 AM MST Sat Jan 20 2018

.Discussion...

A combination of low relative humidity and locally gusty winds
will result in pockets of near critical fire weather conditions
along the I-25 corridor today, though nothing widespread enough
for any highlights. However, it would still be a good day to
avoid outdoor burning or any other activities that could
accidentally start a wildfire.

Late this afternoon through Sunday, snow and blowing snow will
spread from west to east across the district as a storm system
moves through the western U.S. Snow will start along the
Continental Divide this afternoon, move east across the
mountains overnight, then out onto the plains on Sunday. This
system will be strong enough to bring wind, much colder air and
a good chance of snow to most of the district.

Early next week, the pattern will dry out again. Temperatures
will warm a little but still remain fairly close to average for
this time of year.

Afternoon ventilation rates will be good or better west
of a line from Lamar to Springfield today, and fair to
poor east of the line. On Sunday, rates will generally be good
or better everywhere due to strong transport winds.

--- thunderstorms imply strong gusty and erratic winds ---
