A TROUGH OF LOW PRESSURE NEAR THE WEST COAST WILL BRING COOLING AND
A DEEPER MARINE LAYER THIS WEEK. LOCALLY GUSTY WEST WINDS WILL
DEVELOP DURING LATE AFTERNOONS AND EVENINGS THROUGH MOUNTAIN PASSES
AND INTO ADJACENT DESERTS. WARMER WEATHER IS EXPECTED NEXT WEEK AS
HIGH PRESSURE ALOFT STRENGTHENS...AND THAT WILL SUPPRESS THE MARINE
LAYER.

A TALE OF TWO AIRMASSES...IN TERMS OF MOISTURE...PERSISTS ACROSS THE
AREA TODAY WITH MOSTLY DRIER CONDITIONS ALONG AND AND WEST OF THE CO
RIVER VALLEY. SUFFICIENT MONSOON MOISTURE REMAINS ACROSS SOUTH
CENTRAL ARIZONA TO SUPPORT ISOLATED TO SCATTERED AFTERNOON AND
EVENING THUNDERSTORMS BOTH DAYS...WITH BEST CHANCES OVER THE HIGHER
TERRAIN EAST OF PHOENIX. MINIMUM RH VALUES WILL MOSTLY RANGE FROM
15 TO 20 PERCENT OVER THE DESERTS THROUGH TUESDAY WITH HIGHER
AMOUNTS OVER THE HIGHER TERRAIN. EXPECT LOCALLY BREEZY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WITH NEAR NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

...THUNDERSTORMS IMPLY GUSTY WINDS...

NOTE...ADDITIONAL FIRE WEATHER FORECAST INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND IN
THE AREA FORECAST DISCUSSION. SEE PRODUCT PHXAFDPSR.
