SPOT FORECAST FOR SCIPIO SUMMIT
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE SALT LAKE CITY UT
619 PM MDT SAT JUL 4 2015

.DISCUSSION...A LULL IN SHOWER AND THUNDERSTORM ACTIVITY IS
EXPECTED THROUGH MID-EVENING...HOWEVER ANOTHER CLUSTER OF STORMS
DEVELOPING TO THE SOUTH NEAR BRYCE CANYON IS EXPECTED TO MOVE
NORTHWARD...AND MAY IMPACT THE SITE AFTER 2100...AND LINGER INTO
THE OVERNIGHT HOURS. A FEW LIGHTNING STRIKES ALONG WITH GUSTY
ERRATIC WINDS WOULD BE POSSIBLE WITH THESE STORMS IN ADDITION TO
OCCASIONAL LIGHT TO MODERATE RAINFALL. OVERNIGHT RH RECOVERY
SHOULD BE GOOD CONSIDERING THE EARLIER PRECIPITATION ALONG WITH
THE ADDITIONAL STORMS EXPECTED LATER ON. THE PRIMARY WIND
DIRECTION SHOULD REMAIN SOUTHERLY TO SOUTHEASTERLY THROUGH THE
EVENING BUT COULD BECOME ERRATIC AT TIMES.

HIGH PRESSURE IN PROXIMITY TO THE AREA WILL GENERALLY RESULT IN
SLOPE DRIVEN FLOWS OVER THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS. LINGERING
MOISTURE WILL MAINTAIN A THREAT FOR AFTERNOON AND EVENING SHOWERS
AND THUNDERSTORMS CAPABLE OF PRODUCING WETTING RAINS ALONG WITH
GUSTY ERRATIC WINDS AND LIGHTNING.
