...FLOOD POTENTIAL...

A SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR RAPID RISES ON SMALL STREAMS
DRAINING THE NORTHWEST BROOKS RANGE IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 5:30 PM AKDT
MONDAY, JULY 24.

THE SMALL STREAM FLOOD ADVISORY FOR RAPID RISES ON SMALL STREAMS
DRAINING THE INTERIOR AND SOUTHERN SEWARD PENINSULA HAS BEEN
CANCELLED.

RECENT AND FORECAST RAIN MAY LEAD TO RAPID RISES/HIGH WATER ON
AFFECTED NORTHERN BROOKS RANGE AND NORTH SLOPE RIVERS AND STREAMS
THROUGH THE EARLY PART OF THE WEEK.

THE FLOOD POTENTIAL IS CURRENTLY LOW FOR THE REST OF ALASKA.

THE 500 MB PATTERN THIS MORNING HAS A LOW IN THE NORTH
PACIFIC/SOUTHERN GULF... A RIDGE OVER THE ALEUTIANS AND SOUTHERN
AKPEN... AND A DISTURBANCE MOVING WEST TO EAST JUST NORTH OF THE
STATE... WITH A FRONT TRAILING DIAGONALLY ACROSS THE MAINLAND.

THE NORTHERN DISTURBANCE AND ASSOCIATED FRONT WILL BRING RAIN TO
MUCH OF THE MAINLAND AS IT MOVES EASTWARD TODAY.  BY TUESDAY MORNING
ANOTHER LOW IS APPROACHING THE NORTHWEST MAINLAND... BRINGING
ANOTHER ROUND OF RAIN TO THE MUCH OF THE MAINLAND FOR TUESDAY.
MEANWHILE... THE SOUTHERN LOW WILL HAVE MOVED INTO THE SOUTHEAST
GULF BY TUESDAY MORNING AND WILL SPREAD RAIN FROM SOUTH TO NORTH
OVER SOUTHEAST ALASKA.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY TEMPERATURE OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL TEMPERATURES OVER THE ENTIRE STATE.

THE 6 TO 10 DAY PRECIPITATION OUTLOOK HAS INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
ABOVE NORMAL PRECIPITATION FROM THE Y-K DELTA NORTH OVER THE
NORTHWEST MAINLAND AND THEN EAST TO THE EASTERN NORTH SLOPE... AS
WELL AS OVER SOUTHEAST ALASKA.  THERE ARE INCREASED PROBABILITIES OF
BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION FROM SOUTHCENTRAL ALASKA NORTHEASTWARD TO
THE EASTERN INTERIOR.
