DISCUSSION:

IT WILL BE DRY THROUGH FRIDAY.

A COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM WILL DROP INTO CALIFORNIA FRIDAY EVENING.
THE LOW WILL THEN SLOWLY MOVE TO THE SSW AND IS FORECAST TO BE
CENTERED NEAR PT CONCEPTION LATE SUNDAY MORNING. THE LOW WILL THEN
SLOWLY MOVE TO THE EAST SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY.

PRELIMINARY RAINFALL TOTALS CURRENTLY ARE FORECAST BETWEEN 0.10 AND
0.50 INCHES...WITH UP TO 1.00 INCH IN THE SAN GABRIEL MOUNTAINS.
THIS SYSTEM WILL BE VERY SHOWERY AND RAINFALL TOTALS WILL VARY
GREATLY FROM POINT TO POINT. THESE AMOUNTS ARE PRELIMINARY...AND
COULD CHANGE SIGNIFICANTLY IF THE STORM TRACK ALTERS EVEN SLIGHTLY.
SNOW LEVELS WILL RANGE BETWEEN 5000 AND 6000 FEET ON SATURDAY...AND
DOWN TO 4000 FEET ON SUNDAY. THUNDERSTORMS ARE POSSIBLE FROM
SATURDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING. RAINFALL RATES WILL
GENERALLY BE UNDER 0.10 INCHES PER HOUR...BUT ISOLATED RATES UP TO
0.25 TO 0.50 INCHES PER HOUR CANNOT BE DISCOUNTED IN THE FOOTHILLS
AND NEAR THUNDERSTORMS.

A SECOND WEAKER SYSTEM WILL ARRIVE MONDAY AND KEEP THE CHC OF
SHOWERS GOING THROUGH TUESDAY AFTERNOON. AT THIS TIME THIS SECOND
SYSTEM LOOKS DRIER THAN THE WEEKEND SYSTEM.
