Daily River And Lake Summary

Showers and thunderstorms produced a wide range of rainfall across
the area during the last 24 hours. Amounts up to one inch were
common across the Virginia Piedmont with lesser amounts towards the
coast. Low pressure across tthe deep south will be slow to move
north over the next few days. Periods of moderate to heavy rainfall
are expected with amounts around one inch across the piedmont and
around one quarter inch along the coast through Monday morning.
Additional rainfall will continue through Tuesday. River levels
will rise early this week for the James...Appomattox and Chowan
basins, reaching action stages in many locations due to the expected
rainfall.
