WEATHER SUMMARY FOR NORTHERN ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA

IN THE MID TO LATE AFTERNOON THE SUN MADE AN APPEARANCE IN A FEW
LOCATIONS ACROSS NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA.
PRECIPITATION MOVED OUT OF THE AREA BY LATE AFTERNOON.
TEMPERATURES RANGED FROM THE MID 40S TO THE LOW 50S...EXCEPT NEAR
40 NEAR LAKE MICHIGAN. WINDS WERE FROM THE SOUTHWEST GUSTING AS
HIGH AS 35 MPH.

A COLD FRONT WILL APPROACH THE AREA IN THE EARLY EVENING...SO A
CHANCE OF PRECIPITATION IS STILL POSSSIBLE THROUGH MID-EVENING.
THE WINDS WILL SHIFT TO THE WEST NORTHWEST AND DIMINISH TONIGHT.
THE AIR MASS BEHIND THE COLD FRONT IS FROM THE PACIFIC...SO MONDAY
WILL BE MILDER WITH MORE SUNSHINE. MONDAY MORNING AND AFTERNOON
WILL BE DRY WITH HIGHS IN THE MID 50S TO LOWER 60S. THEN A COLD
FRONT WILL BRING A SLIGHT CHANCE OF RAIN IN THE EVENING NORTH OF
INTERSTATE 80. THE COLD FRONT WILL SAG ACROSS THE AREA TUESDAY AS
HIGH PRESSURE SPREADS ACROSS THE NORTHERN GREAT LAKES.
TEMPERATURES SHOULD REACH THE UPPER 50S TO NEAR 60 AWAY FROM THE
LAKE...IT LOOKS LIKE THE FRONT WILL LIKELY PRODUCE FALLING
TEMPERATURES ACROSS FAR NORTHEAST ILLINOIS AND NORTHWEST INDIANA
DURING THE AFTERNOON AS WINDS SHIFT NORTHEAST AND DROP
TEMPERATURES NEAR THE LAKE.
