...VERY STRONG WINDS ALONG COLD FRONT THIS AFTERNOON...

VERY STRONG WINDS ARE ACCOMPANYING A COLD FRONT MOVING THROUGH THE
RIO GRANDE VALLEY THIS AFTERNOON. NORTH WINDS OF 40 MPH WITH GUSTS
TO NEAR 50 MPH WERE REPORTED WITH THE FRONTAL PASSAGE AT VALLEY
INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT IN HARLINGEN WITHIN THE PAST 20 MINUTES. A
WIND ADVISORY IS IN EFFECT ACROSS THE AREA THROUGH THE REST OF THE
AFTERNOON THROUGH TONIGHT.

DRIVING ON EAST TO WEST ROADWAYS WILL BE MADE DIFFICULT
BY NORTH WINDS. SMALL OBJECTS MAY BE BLOWN AROUND AND OUTDOOR
ITEMS SUCH AS TRASH CANS... LAWN FURNITURE AND BASKETBALL GOALS
MAY BE BLOWN OVER. MINOR DAMAGE TO OUTBUILDINGS AND SHEDS AND
ROOFS OF POORLY CONSTRUCTED MOBILE HOMES IS POSSIBLE.
