COUNTIES...

At 106 PM EDT, radar indicated strong thunderstorms were located
along a line extending from Cedar island to Newport to Swansboro to
near Folkstone. The line was nearly stationary with storm movement
northeast along that line at 20 mph.

Torrential downpours, and winds in excess of 30 mph are possible
with these storms.

Locations impacted include...
Jacksonville, Morehead City, Newport, Cedar Island, Stella,
Swansboro, Hubert, Cape Carteret, Merrimon, Harlowe, Dixon,
Folkstone, Great Neck, Peletier, Broad Creek, Bogue, North Harlowe,
Hammocks Beack and Portsmouth Village.

Torrential rainfall may cause localized flooding. Do not drive your
vehicle through flooded roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
