TENNESSEE WEATHER SUMMARY FOR THE WEEK ENDING SUNDAY AUGUST 31 2015

A RELATIVELY QUIET WEEK OF WEATHER PREVAILED FOR MUCH OF TENNESSEE
LAST WEEK. GENERALLY DRY CONDITIONS WERE EXPERIENCED IN TANDEM WITH
A PERIOD OF WELL BELOW NORMAL TEMPERATURES.

TEMPERATURES AVERAGED BETWEEN 2 AND 5 DEGREES BELOW NORMAL LAST
WEEK...WHICH IS FAIRLY SIGNIFICANT WITH SEVERAL RECORD LOWS SET.
THE WARMEST TEMPERATURE WAS OBSERVED IN MEMPHIS ON SATURDAY AT 93
DEGREES WITH THE COOLEST OBSERVED IN CLARKSDALE AT 50 DEGREES.

PRECIPITATION ALSO AVERAGED BELOW NORMAL AT ALL SITES EXCEPT FOR
JACKSON WHICH PICKED UP A QUICK 0.90 INCHES ON SUNDAY AS AN ISOLATED
STORM AFFECTED THE SITE. MOST STATIONS FAILED TO RECORD EVEN A
TRACE OF RAINFALL LAST WEEK.

THE OUTLOOK FOR THE EARLY PORTIONS OF SEPTEMBER CALLS FOR ABOVE
NORMAL TEMPERATURES WITH BELOW NORMAL PRECIPITATION AS SUMMER LOOKS
TO CONTINUE THROUGH AT LEAST MID-SEPTEMBER.
