SOUTH SHORE IN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH THURSDAY MORNING. GUSTY NORTH WINDS AND HEAVY SNOWFALL
RATES WILL LIKELY REDUCE VISIBILITIES AND CAUSE HAZARDOUS TRAVEL

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DULUTH HAS ISSUED A LAKE EFFECT
SNOW ADVISORY...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 2 PM WEDNESDAY TO 10 AM
CST THURSDAY.

* LOCATION...ALONG THE SOUTH SHORE ACROSS NORTHERN ASHLAND AND
  IRON COUNTIES...INCLUDING MELLEN...HIGH BRIDGE...UPSON...AND
  MONTREAL.

* TIMING...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WILL DEVELOP WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND
  INTENSIFY WEDNESDAY NIGHT. SNOW SHOWERS WILL BE HEAVY AT TIMES.
  SNOW WILL TAPER OFF LATE THURSDAY MORNING.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...EXPECT SNOW AMOUNTS TO RANGE FROM 4 TO 7
  INCHES ACROSS NORTHERN ASHLAND AND IRON COUNTIES ALONG THE U.S.
  HIGHWAY 2 AND 51 CORRIDORS...AND ACROSS STATE HIGHWAYS 77 AND
  13.

* WINDS/VISIBILITY...GUSTY NORTH WINDS AND HEAVY SNOWFALL RATES
  WILL REDUCE VISIBILITIES TO A HALF MILE OR LESS AT TIMES.

* IMPACTS...TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL DETERIORATE WEDNESDAY EVENING
  AND THROUGH THE OVERNIGHT.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A LAKE EFFECT SNOW ADVISORY MEANS LAKE-EFFECT SNOW IS FORECAST
THAT WILL MAKE TRAVEL DIFFICULT IN SOME AREAS. LAKE-EFFECT SNOW
SHOWERS TYPICALLY ALIGN THEMSELVES IN BANDS AND WILL LIKELY BE
INTENSE ENOUGH TO DROP SEVERAL INCHES IN LOCALIZED AREAS. USE
CAUTION WHEN TRAVELING.
