There is a small area in western IL where there is a Slight Risk, level 2 of 5. Scattered thunderstorms will develop later this afternoon and continue into the evening hours. The main threats will be hail, damaging winds up to 60 mph, and frequent lightning. A tornado or two is possible west of the Mississippi River but this is a low threat. Any stronger storm may also produce locally heavy rainfall. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...THURSDAY THROUGH TUESDAY Thursday: A few thunderstorms are possible as a cold front moves through the area.
